Five Need To Know Facts About ATV Lift Kits

By Thelma Kent

For adventurous activities and sports competitions, ATV vehicles are used. These are specially designed for rough and difficult roads. These vehicles are used for recreational riding. To ride a car on challenging terrains it is very important that it has sufficient ground clearance. Thus to increase the height, the ATV lift kits are brought to use.

It is easy to use the kit and avoid the damage done to the vehicle. They not only improve the working but also the efficiency of the car. Depending upon the raise it gives to the vehicle, they are broadly of three types. The normal lift kit gives a rise of two inches and the extreme can raise it up to twenty one.

This reduces the damage to the car that is caused by challenging and tough trails. It elevates the car, thus gaining more ground clearance. It also protects the engine from water, mud and other harsh elements and obstacles of the road. This enables a quick navigation on off roads and watery trails.

Due to approximate two inches rise in the vehicle on an average, the wheels are replaced by the bigger ones. This results in giving an additional raise of about four inches making the ride even smoother on off roads. The extreme types may increase the height by about twenty one inches.

The kits also increase the vehicular center of gravity and make it unstable at high speed. These are not fit for regular roads and the increased heights can lead to accidents. These are made for adventure and rough driving and not for highways.

There are many companies which manufacture ATV lift kits. It is always advised to buy a good quality kit as the poor quality might give trouble during the journey and may even break down. Always take a test drive before and take proper safety measures while driving.
