Choosing Between A Hotel Or A Motel

By Thelma Kent

When you are planning a vacation or business trip, you will have to choose the type of accommodation you will stay in. That is why you must know the difference between a hotel Atlanta and a motel. This will ensure that you find lodgings that are comfortable and convenient for yourself and your family.

For shorter stays, hotels offer excellent lodging. The price of the accommodation varies on the type of hotel you are staying in, size of the room and extra services that you might require. These additional services can include anything from cable television and internet connectivity in the room right to room service and a mini bar.

A motel on the other hand is more for travelers who are simply looking for a place to stay over for the night before returning to the long road. Many motels also offer long term accommodation. Unlike hotels, they do not offer many services or meals but only a room for you to sleep in.

Differentiating between hotels and motels is not difficult. While motels are usually single story buildings with large parking areas in front of them, hotels are much larger buildings with two or more floors of rooms. Hotels also have large atriums and reception areas

Another difference between the two is the number of staff that they employ. Hotels tend to have receptionists, housekeeping staff, kitchen staff and many other employees available to make your stay comfortable. Motels have very few staff. Sometimes the receptionist might even take care of the housekeeping and numerous other tasks as well.

If you choose to stay in a hotel atlanta, you can expect to pay more for your accommodation. Therefore you need to take your budget as well as the level of service and comfort into consideration when choosing between the two. Whichever you choose, ensure that the establishment has a good reputation before making your reservations.
