Rondekuil, Durbanville's best kept secret

By Chelsea Hirschfield

Rondekuil now does not only offer great accommodation but also quality conferencing facilities. Only thirty minutes out of Cape Town, this would be the ideal place for company conferences. The center comfortably seats up to 130 people. Standard equipment is provided as well as private doors to the tranquil gardens and a tasteful lunch can be served if you wish, along with tea/coffee and mints.

This could also be a great venue for your child's next birthday party. Offering great grounds to play on and a safe environment, the kid's will have a blast. A tasty kiddie's lunch is provided in the restaurant and apart from offering that the children can feed animals such as sheep rabbits and springbok. Also coming soon a Jungle Jim and jumping castle will be provided under the shade, I'm sure the kid's won't want to leave. And while the parents sit back and watch their children playing "cops and robbers" hearty meals or light snacks will be served.

But apart from all the great things one could do at Rondekuil there are also many great activities that could be enjoyed around the Cape. Why not go and explore the rich history of Robben Island and make a day of it. Take the Farris over the seas and enjoy the scenery the Cape has to offer, eat out at the amazing restaurants from the V & A Water Front and take a trip up the Cable Car.

From my own experience Rondekuil is the best place to escape from the city. They have large comfortable rooms and spacious en-suite bathrooms and at your request a scrumptious breakfast can be served for only an extra R60. There is also a splendid outdoor braai/barbeque and swimming pool area where the whole family can just relax and soak up some sun. There is also adequate under cover parking.

One thing that the Durbanville area is very well known for is its fine quality wine. There are several places where you can go and enjoy a day out in the cape winelands where personal wine tasting guides can be scheduled. Along with all these fine wines, of course there must be mouth watering meals that will leave your taste buds wanting more. The views are amazing no matter where you are. Unfortunately most wine farms restrict children so make sure to arrange a baby sitter for the day.
