Ann Arbor Bed And Breakfast, Inns And Hotels

By Lucile Jacobs

It can often be difficult to decide between an Ann Arbor Bed And Breakfast or a hotel. One reason is because there are so many different great B&Bs in the area. In addition, whereas a lot of inns and hotels are located downtown, city center and the general vicinity, a number of B&Bs are located in more rural areas. So, it all really depends on what guests are looking for in the way of amenities and surroundings.

Privacy is another consideration. For example, while hotels often provide a private room, bath and shower, most B&Bs offered shared bathrooms and showers. In addition, there is often less distance between rooms with thinner walls. So, many B&Bs avoid issues by not providing radio or television in the rooms.

When it comes to location, B&Bs are often located in more quaint areas. There are some areas which host city center locations though these are generally few and far between. In addition, most downtown areas and city centers are going to provide more corporate than local lodging options.

Whereas, most bed and breakfasts offer a more relaxed lodging experience than do most corporate hotels. For example, a guest at a bed and breakfast might end the night with a cup of tea on a veranda. Whereas, a corporate hotel guest is most likely to going to end it at a noisy hotel bar. All in all, it is simply a matter of preference and taste as to which experience sounds best at the time.

Also, as different owners are most likely interested in different areas of life, this research can be quite important to a successful journey. Otherwise, travelers may fore go a variety of discounts and special offers. This is especially true in cases where one owner might be interested in providing discounts to local attractions, while others may not.

Whether getting married, wanting to obtain a tarot card reading or a tattoo, there are hotels which offers these services and others. These are just a few of the things which city hotels offer in package deals that B&Bs generally do not. Still, what B&Bs lack in packages and privacy, hotels generally make up for in noise.

When it comes to rates, it is always best to check the best available rate, corporate rate and any discount for which a guest may qualify. Otherwise, an individual might make a reservation at a higher rate than necessary. So, to assure getting the best rate, it is generally best to check as many different rate categories as possible.

It is also important to inquire about public transportation when traveling without a car as most B&Bs are located in neighborhoods rather than city centers. So, to assure easy access to the city, it is often best to inquire about transportation before making or paying for a reservation. In addition, when traveling on a shoe-string budget, it may also be important to consider the cost of going to and from different areas during a stay.

So, when desiring to stay at an Ann Arbor Bed and Breakfast or any other B&B, it is often best to research the local area. For example, it is often important to know what to expect in the way of food, lodging and transportation costs. When staying for a special occasion, guests may also want to inquire about package deals.
