Info On Choosing A Hotel With A Bar

You can find a cheap hotel London that also can offer a bar. This will allow you to relax with a drink after a hectic day's sightseeing. The capital of the UK has plenty to offer.

You could make a start by watching the changing of the guards on Monday's at Buckingham Palace, where you may even see the Queen if you are lucky. From hotels kings cross you can walk to St James's Park. London has many other beautiful royal parks to visit.

Bond Street, with its exclusive shops favoured by the rich and famous is a short walk away. You could shop for high couture or designer jewellery. Gentlemen can also have a suit made to measure by an experienced tailor.

But if you are after a bargain, then Oxford Street is just around the corner. There are plenty of modern department stores all along this shopping district, and from there you can catch a bus that can take you on a sightseeing tour of the city.

You may want to stop at the London Eye. If you are not scared of heights, you can take a ride in this and take in some wonderful views of the city from 443 feet high. This giant ferris wheel was built to commemorate the millennium. Near the Eye there are many attractions, including an aquarium. The nearest Underground station is Waterloo, and from here you can get the Eurostar and be in the centre of Paris in just over two hours.

There are plenty of museums you can visit in the capital of the United Kingdom. Most offer free entrance to then main exhibits. The Museum of Natural History is famous the world over, as its boasts the complete skeleton of a dinosaur.

There are other museums nearby such as the Victoria and Albert and the Science Museum. The latter is also free to visit, and you can see medical and scientific equipment used during the eighteenth century. The kids will have fun with the interactive displays.

The wax statues at Madame Tussauds are famous the world over. The models of famous people from past and present are very lifelike. If you like astronomy, you could also visit the Planetarium, which is next door.

There are also some interesting historical palaces and buildings to visit in this major European capital. The Palace of Westminster is now home to the Houses of Parliament. The building was commenced nearly 900 years ago in Anglo Saxon times. Westminster Abbey, the scene of many royal weddings, is close by.

Tower Bridge is one of the capital's major landmarks. The Tower itself was once used as a prison, and held the likes of Anne Boleyn and Mary Queen of Scots, both of whom were executed here. If you like royal history, you will also like to see Windsor Castle, which is another of the Queen's residences. It is situated on the outskirts of the capital, in the picturesque village of Windsor.

There is so much, much more to see and do in this capital city. Many cheap hotels in London are situated in the centre of the city. London also boasts a marvellous public transport system.
