In the year 2008 a law was passed which allows science, engineering and technology students to work for 29 months. Student is not allowed to be unemployed more than 90 days during this period.
As per the Federal Insurance Contribution act taxes the F1 permission holders exempted. After first five years of stay this tax exemption will be considered as invalid. Apart from this they have to pay the local taxes and other valid federals. If the student reside in US for less than five years and he wishes to file for his income tax returns then he must fill the forms 1040NR and 1040NR-EZ. Based on the country of origin these rules get changed.
The applicant must meet all the requirements of US immigration and national act to study in US. The applications are verified and permissions are granted by consular officer. After completion of education the student should be prepared to depart from the country. To study in US the applicant must show the financial status to bear the expenses while stay.
