Get a nice sum in the local currency before you leave to save time. Trying to get currency changed on your trip can be difficult, especially if you arrive after business hours. Almost all large banks sell foreign currency, so before going to the airport, make a quick run to the bank.

Make sure you are knowledgeable about the current events for any destination that you have in mind. Check the BCA website if you want to see updates on things that are happening abroad. This will help you avoid potentially dangerous situations.

You will not save much space, plus, many of these items are overpriced. Try to fold your clothes more efficiently with methods such as bundle packing. This can free up some space for other things you will need.

Be cautious about emails that cover travel deals. It is important to only open emails from travel companies with whom you know you have been asked to be added to their mailing list.

Affix a label containing key contact info to the inside of your luggage. This label should include your name, your cell phone number, and your address. Doing this can really be a lifesaver if your luggage is separated from you, so when someone else finds it, they can contact you. You can't keep an eye on your luggage at all times, so this will help prevent loss.

Planning ahead is the number one rule of flying. It can take a lot of time to reach an airport that is located in a major city, because of location and traffic. Have your bags packed well in advance. Make all the preparations you need well before your flight. You want to do everything possible to avoid arriving late for your flight.

Try not to exchange currency when you visit a different country. If you need foreign currency, there are easier ways to get it. You can simply get foreign currency from an ATM at a bank. If you are able to use a bank ATM machine, you will be able to find a more affordable exchange rate and less fees.

Take turns driving when traveling for extended periods of time. If you push yourself to drive until you feel tired, when you change drivers, you will take a nap, and the new driver will have to go a long distance in silence. Don't drive until the point of exhaustion. Try to switch drivers every two or three hours. This way, you will not get too tired to drive safely.
