Tourists can experience the rich art atmosphere of Norway in the museum, art gallery and surrounding landscape. The Folk Custom Museum of Norway is the largest domestic museum. There are many paintings shown in the Munch Museum, which were created by the famous painter Edvard Munch during his childhood. In the Viking Ship Museum, you can see the well-preserved Viking ship which was made in the 8th and 9th century.

Norway nurtured many great artists, such as the international celebrity in the music scene Royksoppand and the prestigious film maker Harald Zwart. In addition, the famous Painter Edvard Munch, dramatist Henrik Ibsen, contemporary actress Liv Ullman and scientist Thor Heyerdahl are all from Norway.

Visitors to the North Cape will find much to occupy them both within this part of Finnmark and elsewhere in the county. You could go on a bird safari, visit a fishing village or take in the views from Knivskjelodden, the northernmost part of the region. Elsewhere in Finnmark, there are five national parks to explore, each offering a unique experience.

Norwegian people particularly like sports. As long as there are public holidays, every family will drive the car and go to suburban areas. Summer in Norway is ideal for some aquatic activities.
